New Hope's Dream Status ~
New Hope Community Church is a community of Christians
who have experienced first-hand the difficulties and excitements
of beginning a new community of faith. We see the future as full
of possibilities for a church that finds its place in the larger
community through service, relationships, and building partnerships.
We are ready and willing to try new ideas and to risk ourselves
for God.
Currently our dreams are focused on:
• Community
Gardening
• In depth prayer and bible study
• Community Service through monthly forums that address issues of
job search, domestic violence, gardening tips, etc.
• Spirit² Discussion Group-young adult discussion group
We invite anyone to join us who is interested in living authentically
with the questions of life and God. We are always working to learn
more about God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit through study of the Bible
and conversations with others. We strive to worship God through
dynamic and experiential gatherings. We’re a community of dreamers!
We welcome you to come dream with us!

What
are your dreams for New Hope? ~
I have been
asking each of you to think and pray and dream for what God wants
the ministry of New Hope to be. It is through our attention to God’s
dreams that we will find out who God wants us to be as a community.
I am getting really excited about the dreams that I have been having
about New Hope. As I have thought about how to share my personal
dreams for the ministry of New Hope I have decided to create for
us a Vision Board.
A vision board is a tool to help keep God’s Dream and our
dreams for New Hope in front of us. It enables us to “See”
the vision in a tangible way. As a community we will discern, begin
to understand God’s vision for us and we can add pictures,
symbols, ideas to the vision board that serve to remind us of our
call. It is our way of “dressing for the job we want,”
we will put in front of us visions of who we feel like God is calling
us to be so that we will live into those realities with intention
and grace.
As we gather for worship, prayer, discussion, congregational activities,
fun and support I ask that you share your dreams with me and one
another. As dreams emerge from our community I will add to the vision
board, so that we can “see” our dreams and share them.
We have an amazing opportunity to become a community of faith that
can look different, whose priorities can seek to reflect Christ
in a changing world and culture, and whose life is lived in the
larger community not as a inclusive family but an extended family
that welcomes diversity and dynamic change.
I believe in the beauty of God’s Dream for us, as we move
into the future I am sure we will begin to see our dreams become
reality as we glorify God through our service and devotion.
